Hello World
Apr. 19th, 2025 02:15 pmThis is my first post on this beautiful website. I used to run a tumblr blog, which felt great up to a certain point. It seemed like every blogging platform became a social media nonsense, too loud, too flashy, too many normies and not enough geeks. I'm afraid, the times when blogging felt "good enough" for me are gone.
Times are changing. Information flows are accelerating. Uncertainty is increasing. Us meek humans have finally invented the artificial mind, a thinking machine — something I didn't truly expect to happen within my timeframe. One can connect to such a thinking machine using a computer or a phone and talk to them, ask them questions, and it will respond like a human, in a straightforward way, sometimes even lying without admitting it, like a true human being.
First it was Google who made people think less, because now you can find most answers very easily, now it's OpenAI and brethren. Maybe it's for the better, because I like how their machines think better than how most humans do. Maybe we could even collectively learn something important from them.
Last year I even became an AI researcher. I'm working on a PhD degree in this field. It's comparable to how some people find animals very cute, and so become animal care experts: I find the idea of a thinking computer very cute, so I want to be a thinking computer care expert.
I hope you enjoyed reading my first dreamwidth post, dear reader, and I wish you a good day.
